17 March 2015

Toronto, Canada . . . Tuesday, March 17, 2015 . . . Today the International Garden Tourism Network (IGTN) is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2015 International Garden Tourism Awards.

Tourism is the world’s fourth largest industry. And Garden Tourism is a significant part of it. “It is estimated,” says Dr. Richard Benfield, author of ‘Garden Tourism’, and Chair of the IGTN, “that there are 250 million garden tourists worldwide and significantly more if garden festivals, events and garden shows were included. It is a pleasure to be in Toronto, as Canada has been a leader in the development and promotion of garden tourism and the North American Garden Tourism Conference testifies to this leadership.”

Garden Tourism Awards are presented to organizations and individuals who have distinguished themselves in the development and promotion of the garden experience as a tourism attraction. Now presented annually, the inaugural Garden Tourism Awards were bestowed for the first time in 2011. To view past winners, visit www.gardentourismconference.com and click on the ‘media’ tab.

In the spirit of highlighting the world’s most dynamic garden experiences and Garden Tourism’s limitless potential, in consultation with a global jury network, IGTN is honored to announce the 2015 recipients of the International Garden Tourism Awards.
